Previously, Apple said cloud-based gaming services like Project xCloud would be required to link individual games for purchase from their own App Store pages, something Microsoft called “a bad experience for customers.” Apple opened up its operating system to game streaming - albeit with major hurdles - in September. Microsoft said the service will be available on Apple iOS through the mobile web browser, circumventing the need for the App Store. The service was previously available on mobile for Android devices only. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users will be able to play games via the cloud on their Apple iOS devices come spring 2021, Microsoft announced Wednesday.
